The Work

Key Projects

Story of Stuff Project
Worked with the Story of Stuff Project to scale their communications infrastructure, so they can more effectively manage their rapidly growing base of supporters, collaborators, and partners (Nov 2009-Mar 2010).

Interaction Institute for Social Change
Guided IISC through a comprehensive Technology Systems Redesign.  This 6-month process included: a detailed assessment of business processes and supporting technology infrastructure, a complete set of technology recommendations, a multi-year implementation and rollout plan, RFP development and vendor vetting, and change management guidance (Sept 2009-March 2010).

Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund
Since 2004, ScoutSeven has guided this San Francisco-based foundation through several communications initiatives, including two website redesigns, and a Salesforce.com implementation.

Rockwood Leadership Institute
Since 2008, ScoutSeven has worked with Rockwood to develop a strategic communications and technology plan, execute a new website and Salesforce.com implementation, and manage a successful change process for these large systems changes.

American Association for Justice
Guided this DC-based national association through a complete redesign and execution of their online and interactive strategy.  This included establishing a new Online Initiatives department, streamlining all their internal systems and processes, and building a network of ongoing technology partners  (Sept 2007–Oct 2008).

Green for All
Worked with this start-up nonprofit to develop a strategic technology plan, manage the development of their online infrastructure, and cultivate a network of providers to support their ongoing work (Sept 2007-April 2008).

dotOrganize
In May of 2006, ScoutSeven initiated this 2-year project to shed some light on the sector-wide inadequacies of the nonprofit technology sector. Our report, Online Technology for Social Change: From Struggle to Strategy, was the first-ever reality check on the state of the nonprofit technology sector (May 2006–Jan 2009).

League of Young Voters
During their first election cycle ('04), we worked with the League to develop a strategic technology plan, execute their online voter guides, and manage the organizational kinks of a start-up nonprofit. If there's one organization we think can save the world, it's this one. If you're not supporting them already, start now.

Agenda
In 2004, Leda Dederich spent much of the year working and researching in Israel and the occupied territories. A highlight of her journey was collaborating with the Israeli-based Agenda to deliver trainings on the strategic use of online technology to Israeli and Palestinian social change organizations.

Arianna Huffington for Governor
Leda Dederich served as Online Campaign Manager for Arianna Huffington's '03 bid for Governor of California. If you have never experienced Arianna and Arnold in their famed Hybrid vs. Hummer drag race, check it out now.
